College scholarships for 2009-10 have been awarded to Corrina Stoddart, daughter of HRM-RI member Kathleen Stoddart, PHR, and Jason Rooney, son of HRM-RI member Priscilla Rooney, PHR. We wish them the best of luck in their undergraduate pursuits.

Gerard Holder is New Chair of HRM-RI's PR Committee
HRM-RI President Diane Buerger recently announced
that Gerard (Jerry) Holder, Founder and President of
Holder Consulting,
has been appointed as Chair of HRM-RI's Public Relations Committee.
Many members will recognize Jerry as the keynote speaker at our Winter Professional Development Conference in March 2009.
Jerry is a diversity strategist who has been in the field for over 10 years. He recently released his first book, “Hidden Bias – How Unconscious Attitudes on Diversity
Undermine Organizations and What to do About It. He has enjoyed success as a Corporate Human Resources Manager and as Interim Executive Director
for the National Association of Minority Contractors, and he is recognized as a State of Rhode Island diversity ambassador.

Judy Clare Steps Down as HRM-RI Business & Education Committee Chair; Susan Caizzi Named as New Chair
The HRM-RI Board is pleased to announce that Susan Caizzi, Associate Director, Career Center, Roger Williams University, has been appointed as Chair of HRM-RI's Business & Education Committee.
Susan had been an active member of the Business and Education Committee. Now she is taking over the Chair's role from Judy Clare, Director of Career Services, Bryant University.
Judy recently decided to step down as Chair of the committee after having served in that capacity for many years. Judy intends to remain an active, involved member of HRM-RI. |
