Benefits of Membership
Monthly Events
HRM-RI provides a forum for guest speakers on current issues, while
offering a networking opportunity for members.
Professional Development
HRM-RI offers access to seminars and other sources of professional development and
education. We sponsor classes in preparation for the PHR (Professional in Human Resources) and
SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification exams.
Conferences
Sponsored independently and in concert with SHRM, our conferences provide
an in depth exploration of subjects that relate directly to the human resource profession.
Student Chapters
HRM-RI encourages qualified individuals to enter the human resources field by
sponsoring student chapters in local colleges and universities.
Information Resources
Through our web site and e-mail newsletters, members have access to
a wealth of information resources, including our job bank, legal
updates, surveys, and white papers. We also offer an
opt-in member listserv to facilitate communication and discussion
among members.
Volunteer Committees
Members have an opportunity to shape the direction of our organization through active
involvement in a number of areas: Business/Education; Legislative Affairs; Membership;
Program/Professional Development; Public Relations.
Special Discounts
Members and their companies enjoy special discounts on various programs
and services. For example, East Bay Classifieds offers a
discount on recruitment advertising, the Executive Development
Center at Bryant University provides a 10% discount on HR courses,
and Staples has a special discount buying program for HRM-RI
members.
