Awards Earned by HRM-RI

SHRM 2009 Merit Chapter Award

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in Alexandria, VA has awarded the Merit Chapter designation to the Human Resource Management Association of Rhode Island (HRM-RI) for its scope of work in perpetuating and supporting the mission of the organization in 2009.

SHRM is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management, with more than 250,000 members in over 140 countries, and more than 575 affiliated chapters.

HRM-RI is one of 32 chapters receiving the distinction in SHRM's Northeast Region comprised of 11 states and 95 affiliated chapters.

"This recognition is a distinct indication of the chapter's successful partnership with SHRM to serve the networking and professional development needs of human resource professionals and to the advancement of the human resources profession," noted Pamela J. Green,
SPHR, Chief Membership Officer for SHRM.

HRM-RI receives a Certificate of Recognition, a specialized banner to display at its meetings and events, and is being recognized in SHRM's publications and at its conferences.

Past SHRM Chapter Merit Awards

HRM-RI received the SHRM Chapter Merit Award for 2001 and 2008.

HRM-RI received the SHRM Superior Chapter Merit Award for 1992 through 2000, and for 2002 through 2007.

SHRM 2007 Superior Merit Chapter Award

SHRM awarded the Superior Merit Chapter designation to the Human Resource Management Association of Rhode Island for 2007. This was the sixth consecutive year for which HRM-RI received the Superior Merit Award, and the fifteenth time HRM-RI had received the Superior Merit Award during the past sixteen years.
