HRM-RI Sons and Daughters Scholarship Applications
Now Being Accepted
by Judy Clare, Business & Education Committee Chair
HRM-RI is now accepting applications for our Sons and Daughters
Scholarship Program. Applicants must be high school seniors, high
school graduates or college under-graduates enrolled in a full-time
course of study at a four-year college or university for Fall 2005.
Two $500 awards will be made by random drawing in early May 2005.
Complete and return the official
application form by Tuesday, April
25, 2005, to the address on the form. Any inquiries may be directed
to Judy Clare at 401-232-6090.

RI State Council of SHRM invites you to join your colleagues on May 9th
from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. when Chef Walter Potenza will open Walter's
Aquaviva Ristorante to the HR profession for an evening of friendly
networking and fine food on Federal Hill in Providence. The deadline to sign up is May 4th.

"Your Foundation at Work" -- Scholarships

State Council, SHRM Foundation Liaison
The SHRM Foundation Regional Scholarship Program is a flexible
awards program designed to assist working SHRM members. Scholarships
are awarded annually to professional, general, and associate members
of SHRM who are pursuing a college degree or working toward SPHR
or PHR certification.
Individuals may apply for either an Education Scholarship or a Certification
Scholarship, and applicants may specify the amount of money they
are requesting up to $3,000. The 2005 application deadline is May

DOL Web Tools Help Employers Understand Reservists'
Reemployment Rights
Many of the nation's National Guard and Reservists are returning
from Iraq. Do these service men and women get their civilian jobs
