Next HRM-RI Breakfast Meeting is April 9, 2008

HRM-RI's next breakfast meeting will be held
at the Radisson Hotel in Warwick on April 9,
2008.
Our speaker will be Wendy Hanson,
Executive Coach, Lee Hecht
Harrison, who will give a
presentation on two topics: The Perfect
Storm -- Generational Differences in the
Workplace.
This program has been pre-approval by the
Human Resource Certification Institute for
1.5 (General) recertification credit hours.
Use of the seal above is not an endorsement
by HRCI of the quality of the program. It
means that this program has me HRCI's
criteria to be pre-approved for
recertification credit.
- Understand the profiles of Baby Boomers,
Gen X'ers and Gen Y's
- Strategies on how to retain, develop, and
meet the workforce needs across all
generations
- Recommended action steps for helping the
generations to appreciate their similarities
and differences
- Ideas about how to turn the generational
challenge into an opportunity for your

business clothing donations during the April
9th HRM-RI Breakfast Meeting.
Now cleaning out your closets can go towards
a worthy cause!
Please consider the following as you prepare
your tax free donation:
- All donations should be on hangers
- Donations should be wrinkle and rip-free
- Shoes as well other accessories are
gladly accepted
- Please consider donating both men's and
women's items
- Both professional and business casual
attire gladly accepted
- Donations in April should be Spring or
Summer items only (lack of storage space at
the Clothing Collaborative is a challenge)

Annual Legislative Update On 5/1

The 10th Annual Legislative & Employment
Law Update and 3rd Annual Legislative
Luncheon will be held on May 1, 2008, at the
Providence Marriott. Speakers will include:

- Christopher F. Koller, RI Health Insurance
Commissioner
- Michael Aitken, SHRM's Director of
Government Affairs
- Francis P. Alvarez, Partner, Jackson
Lewis LLP
This event is presented by the RI State
Council of SHRM, the Human Resource
Management Association of RI, and the
Southern RI Human Resouce Council. For the
morning session, 3.5 recertification credit
hours have been pre-approved by HRCI, and 1.5
credit hours have been pre-approved for the
luncheon program.

HRM-RI Members to Vote on Revised By-Laws
|
|
|
All active members of HRM-RI will soon be
receiving an e-mail message from David
Goldman, asking them to review, and vote on,
revised chapter by-laws which were recently
approved by the HRM-RI's parent
organization, the Society for Human Resource
Management (SHRM).
Watch for David's message -- it will contain
a special link to make it very easy for you
to review the revised by-laws and cast your
vote.
