Professional Development: Warwick Meetings

Tuesday, February 13 , 2007

The Human Resource Management Association of Rhode Island presents

Mustard Doesn't Go On Corn! -
how respect, openness, and a simple process for innovation
can lead to great ideas

Speaker: Richard Trombetta, President
The Innovation Company LLC

About the Presentation

Local author and President of The Innovation Company, Richard Trombetta leads a fun, energizing, and interactive session focused on the key principles in his book Mustard Doesn't Go On Corn! - how respect, openness, and a simple process for innovation can lead to great ideas.

By sharing experiences, examples, and stories, participants will learn that innovation is actually quite easy and that every organization can implement a simple process to tap into the creative potential of all employees. The author shows how the key to innovation is getting people to focus on how to make things happen rather than why things can't happen.

What participants will learn:

  • How to create an innovative work environment
  • The keys to innovation
  • Why innovation can often be so difficult for organizations
  • The fact that EVERYONE is creative and how to tap into all employees ideas
  • A tangible process to take an idea from a thought to action

Tools participants will walk away with:

  • Techniques for generation of new ideas
  • An approach to build on ideas
  • Quick energizers to spark innovation
  • Fun ways to take what was learned in the discussion back to the workplace

This session is designed to help almost anyone but ideally is for people who can go back to the workplace and effect change within a team, department, group, or even an entire company.
