HRM-RI is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2005 Student Scholarship:
Stephen D. Sperandio, a junior at Johnson & Wales University, from
Wilmington, MA. He is president of J & W's SHRM organization, has maintained
a GPA of 3.79, and is pursuing a BS degree in management.
Maureen Harrington is currently a senior at Providence College majoring
in business and comes from Fremont, NH. She maintains a GPA of 3.63 and
has completed a human resource internship at Citizens Bank.
Jared Bogda, also a senior at Providence College, and is majoring
in management. Jared comes from Bridgewater, NJ and has a 3.29 GPA. He recently
completed a internship in the Human Resource Department at textron.
Criteria for applying for the scholarship included: junior or senior status
at a four year institution, evidence of a solid education background and
demonstration of a personal commitment to the human resource field. A recommendation
for a HR professor or SHRM student chapter faculty advisor was also required.
We congratulate our three scholarship recipients and will present each
of these students with a $500 check to be used to help finance their education.
The awards will be presented at the HRM-RI February membership meeting.
