An engaging panel will feature some
of Rhode Island's key business partners from the Public and Philanthropic
sectors in a discussion of Rhode Island Statewide Workforce Development,
Employer Resources and Partnerships, available to support our emerging
workforce readiness needs.
We will have handouts available after the program with information
on Industry Partnerships and recent Grantmaking.

About the Panelists
Sandra Powell, State of Rhode Island, Assistant Director
Workforce Development - speaking on the Structure of
the Dept. of Labor, Employer Services, to include NetworkRI and Industry
Partnerships.
Jane Nugent has been with the United Way of Rhode Island for
19 years. She currently serves as Sr. Vice President, Director of Building Adult
and Neighborhood Independence Impact Area, a 2.7 million dollar investment in:
Laborforce Development, Neighborhood Development, and the Earned Income Tax Credit
Campaign. She is also a member of the Workforce Board of Greater RI, representing
community based organizations. Jane will share her perspective regarding the
United Way focus on "demand
side" partnerships with prospective employers and the low skilled, low income
of Rhode Island. The objective is to partner community based organizations and
prospective employers and to give employers a voice in public policy as it relates
to workforce readiness.
Dottie Miller, State of Rhode Island, will discuss
the Governor's Workforce Board Initiative and the Youth Program model. |
